GedSite Version 1.4.3 Released

This version adds the HTML Editor, a "what you see is what you get" editor for editing HTML.

See the Change Log for a description of other minor changes.

HTML Editor

The HTML Editor included in version 1.4.3 provides a dedicated window for editing HTML. It is available for all text properties that may contain HTML.

You open the HTML Editor by clicking the textbox for a property and then using the Open Editor... command on the Edit menu. You may also open the HTML Editor by clicking the textbox for a property and pressing [F7]. If you use the editor often, you will probably find the [F7] method more convenient than the Edit > Open Editor... method.

HTML editors are not as well-developed as similar editors for general word-processing use, and you cannot use a visual HTML editor to create all possible HTML. The HTML Editor in GedSite is mostly intended for editing formatted paragraphs of text, lists, and simple tables. For images, it's best to use GedSite's Image User Item, and specify text before or after the image using a Text User Item. The Text property in the Text User Item may be edited with the HTML Editor.

See the HTML Editor help page for more information.
