The Title property defines the text of the heading that is added to the page, and also identifies the User Item in the User Items list.
The Heading Level property determines which HTML element is used to render the heading,
Choose the heading level based on the hierarchy of the content on the page and not on the appearance of the different headings. So, if the last heading was at level 2, and the next section of content is logically one-level more detailed and part of the previous heading, choose "h2".
GedSite uses an
h1 element to render the page title. For that reason, it is usually best to use a heading element with a higher number, h2, h3, etc.
If you enter text or HTML into the Text textbox, GedSite will add that text to the page after the heading. Use the Edit > Open Editor... command (
F7) to open an editor window that is suitable for editing multi-line text values.
If you specify an Anchor Name, the Heading User Item will add a link target at the location of the heading. The Anchor Name must be unique within the entire site. You may add an Anchor Link User Item or Anchor Link Text Code to create a link to the heading from elsewhere in the site. See the Anchors page for more details.
