GedSite has excellent support for rootstrust GEDCOM files and supports rootstrust extensions including sentence templates, witnesses and roles.

Sentence templates are only supported if you are using rootstrust v1.0 Build 393 (or greater) and you export with "Target System" set to "GedSite".

Exporting from rootstrust

When exporting a GEDCOM from rootstrust for use with GedSite:

1. If you are using rootstrust v1.0 Build 393 (or greater), set the "Target System" to "GedSite" on the "General" tab of the GEDCOM Export Options dialog window.

   If you are using rootstrust v1.0 Build 392 (or prior), set the "Target System" to "rootstrust" on the "General" tab of the GEDCOM Export Options dialog window.

2. On the "General" tab of the GEDCOM Export Options dialog window, uncheck "Exclude information about living Persons". GedSite will let you exclude information about living people and provides useful options for how you handle them.
3. On the "Custom" tab of the GEDCOM Export Options dialog window, uncheck "Export Living flag". Rootstrust exports the Living flag as an event and it's not particularly useful in GedSite.

Sentences

GedSite's sentence processing engine is flexible and has been customized to support sentence templates as supplied by several different genealogy programs, including rootstrust. Read on for more details.

GedSite includes support for global sentences from rootstrust GEDCOM files if (A) you are using rootstrust v1.0 Build 393 (or greater), and (B) you set the "Target System" to "GedSite" on the "General" tab of the GEDCOM Export Options dialog window

rootstrust does not support local sentences.

Other Extensions

GedSite supports the _PRIM record that rootstrust includes with media records (OBJE) to indicate whether an exhibit is primary or not.
