Edit Strings Menu

Overview

The Utilities > Edit Strings menu includes two commands for editing strings used by GedSite as it makes a site. Strings are sequences of characters, often words and phrases, that are visible to the person reading the site.

• The All Sites... command edits string values that will apply to any site you make unless that string is reset by an entry in a Current Folder Sites file.
• The Current Folder Sites... command edits string values that will apply to any site you make where the GedSite file is in the same folder as the current GedSite file.

String files are specific to a particular culture. When you use either command above, you will be editing a file that is specific to the language chosen by the Language.Site Language property, i.e., the language chosen for the current site.
